If Today Is My Last

Happy June, EB Community!

I can’t imagine it’s already June. Where did the first five months of the year go?

In the busy-ness of my life, I’ve recently felt the need to take a step back, breathe and contemplate on what life’s about.

I have met several folks where the clock is ticking super fast and nothing ever prepares us or our loved ones when told of only days or months left.

At the same time, I have also met many who tell me they don’t want to live till old and happy to return to the maker as and when.

This has made me reflect on the meaning of life and what are my own views of this inevitable end of a topic. Because we will all arrive at the same destination, sooner or later.

I contemplated and this is the legacy I like to leave.

No right or wrong and each of us will have our own piece to say. So this is just mine.

For at the end of the final analysis, it’s treasuring every day that I wake up to and making the most out of it. To be kind, generous and happy but most of all to have more love in me, even when sometimes it’s really difficult because of all the hurt and disappointments we encounter daily too. So I am realistic but sometimes it is important too to be idealistic in how we choose to live our lives.

A Reflection on Life and Legacy

If today is my last. The final chapter of a journey that has been filled with laughter, tears, triumphs, and trials. As I sit down to write this, I am overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude for the life I’ve lived and the experiences I’ve had. If today truly is my last, these are the thoughts I want to leave behind.

Cherish Every Moment

Life is fleeting, and every moment counts. We often get caught up in the hustle and bustle, forgetting to appreciate the little things. The morning sun filtering through the trees, the rain striking a tin roof, the sound of children laughing, the warmth of a loved one’s embrace – these are the moments that make life beautiful. Take a moment each day to pause and savor these experiences. Smile and be happy.

Love Deeply and Unconditionally

Love is the essence of life. It’s the force that connects us to one another, that drives us to be better, to do better. If today is my last, I want to remind you to love deeply and unconditionally. Tell your family and friends how much they mean to you. Mend broken relationships. Forgive and let go of grudges. Love is too precious to withhold.

Pursue Your Passions

Life is too short to spend doing things that don’t bring you joy. Follow your dreams, chase your passions, and never settle for mediocrity. Whether it’s gardening, painting, writing, teaching, or traveling the world, do what sets your soul on fire. Your passions are a part of who you are, and they deserve to be pursued.

Be Kind and Compassionate

Kindness is a gift that costs nothing but means everything. In a world that can sometimes be harsh and unforgiving, choose to be kind. Show compassion to those around you, whether it’s a stranger in need or a friend going through a tough time. Your kindness has the power to make a difference in someone’s life.

Embrace Change - accept the inevitable

Change is inevitable, and it is often through change that we grow the most. Embrace it, don’t fear it. Each new experience, each new challenge no matter how painful, brings with it an opportunity to learn and evolve. Embrace the unknown with an open heart and mind.

Leave a Legacy of Goodness

When I’m gone, I hope to be remembered not for my achievements, but for the goodness I brought into the world. Strive to leave a legacy of kindness, love, and positivity. Make the world a better place in whatever way you can. Your actions, no matter how small, have the potential to create ripples of goodness that extend far beyond your lifetime.

Live Authentically

Be true to yourself. Don’t live your life trying to meet the expectations of others. Embrace your uniqueness and live authentically. Your true self is your greatest asset, and the world needs you just as you are.

Final Thoughts

If today is my last, I want to leave with no regrets, only gratitude. I am thankful for the love I’ve received, the experiences I’ve had, and the lessons I’ve learned. Life is a beautiful journey, and I am honored to have walked this path.

To those reading this, live your life fully, love deeply, and leave a legacy of goodness. Remember to make everyday count.

Thank you for being a part of my journey.
